For my final major project at university, one of the briefs that stood out to me was a marketing campaign for Morris & Co. The aim was to encourage customers to buy directly from their website. As I looked into the brand and its history, I got more interested and decided to adapt the brief so I could bring in my own printmaking skills alongside Morris & Co.'s designs.
That led me to the idea of telling a story through wallpaper. I ended up creating a book that highlights key moments in William Morris’s life and the development of the brand. I screen printed the designs onto card, and for the covers, I used fabric on greyboard with my own screenprinted patterns, utilising parts of certain Morris & Co. designs. I bound everything using copper screw pins, and added a layer of acetate over each printed page for protection.
